SNAP was denied after a missed interview

Contact Family Support about the missed interview and the denial notice. Ask how to finish the case and protect your hearing rights.

  1. Check the denial reason

Find the notice and application date. Check whether the reason is a missed interview or missing proof. Save records of any calls you tried.

  2. Ask for the next interview route

Call 855-306-8959. Say your SNAP application was denied after a missed interview. Ask whether to complete this case or submit a new application.

  3. Explain what blocked the interview

Tell staff about a wrong phone number, language need, disability or missed call. Ask about an authorized representative if you need someone to help.

  4. Ask about a fair hearing

If you disagree, follow the hearing instructions on the notice. Ask staff to confirm the deadline and how to make a request. Keep submission proof.

  5. Finish the tasks staff confirms

Complete the interview and send requested proof. Get a receipt or case note. If you need food now, ask about urgent screening and use the Food Crisis guide.

If this does not work

Use the local DCBS office link on the SNAP page if calls fail. Bring the denial and call record. Ask for help with the hearing request.

Confirm before you go

Confirm the interview date, contact number, office, proof and hearing deadline. A new interview or application does not promise approval.

The agency decides who can get help. Funds, appointments, and space may change. Keep private records with you; this page does not ask for them.
