Kentucky · What to do when…
Need a GED to move forward
Find a Kentucky Adult Education center, plan your study time and check test rules before paying or booking.
Find the local learning center
Open Kentucky Adult Education’s page below. Choose Contact Us to find a center near you. Say you want to work toward a GED and ask how to enroll.
Explain what you need to learn
Tell staff which subjects feel hard and when you can study. Ask about class times, remote study and help using a computer. Ask about language or disability support if needed.
Check age and test rules
Use the Earn Your GED page with staff. Ask which age, school withdrawal and ID rules apply to you. Do this before you book a test or leave school.
Plan the practice test
Ask staff how to prepare for GED Ready and when to take each subject. The state’s funded test route requires passing GED Ready first. Check whether funding still covers your test.
Book when your plan is ready
Ask staff to help check your official GED account, test choice, cost and date. Confirm ID and travel or computer needs. Keep the booking and rescheduling instructions.
If this does not work
If the test date or class time does not work, ask the center for another study plan. Ask what support is available while you prepare; you may need more time before you pass.
Confirm before you go
Confirm class or test location, ID, age approval, cost, current funding and needed supports. Do not pay a third party who promises a diploma.
The agency decides who can get help. Funds, appointments, and space may change. Keep private records with you; this page does not ask for them.
