Your EBT benefits appear to have been stolen

Protect the card, save the transaction details and report the loss to DCBS. Ask what help is currently allowed for your theft date.

  1. Order a new card now

Call EBT customer service at 888-979-9949. Say you suspect benefit theft and need a replacement card. Ask how to protect the remaining balance.

  2. Check the transaction history

Use the ebtEDGE link on the CHFS page. Note charges you did not make, dates and amounts. Save the details in a safe place.

  3. Report the theft to DCBS

Call 855-306-8959 or contact your local Family Support office. Give the theft details and ask for a report number or receipt.

  4. Ask about replacement rules now

Ask whether any benefit replacement is allowed for your theft date, which form to use and its deadline. A new card does not replace stolen funds.

  5. Protect the new card and meet food needs

Change the PIN when the new card arrives. Do not share card and PIN details with incoming callers. Use the Food Crisis guide if food is needed today.

If this does not work

If online access fails, use EBT customer service and the local DCBS office route. Ask for a written answer about replacement options; repayment is not promised.

Confirm before you go

Confirm the Family Support office, report details and any current form deadline. Use official contacts; do not follow links from unexpected theft messages.

The agency decides who can get help. Funds, appointments, and space may change. Keep private records with you; this page does not ask for them.
