Take a little break

Color something, doodle, breathe, or just wander off for a minute. Pick one thing. You do not have to finish it, and you can come back any time.

These activities are an escape or a break, not medical advice and not a substitute for care.

Coloring pages

Choose one page and color it however you like. Each PDF is sized for US Letter paper.

Puzzles

Crosswords and word searches to print. Answer keys are separate links, so no peeking unless you want to.

Little fun breaks

Try any of these if you feel like it. Skip the rest. You can stop at any time.

A slower breath

  1. Let your shoulders rest where they are.
  2. Breathe in gently while counting to four.
  3. Breathe out gently while counting to six.
  4. Repeat up to four times. Stop if you feel uncomfortable, dizzy, or short of breath.

Notice five things

  1. Name five things you can see.
  2. Notice four things you can feel, three you can hear, two you can smell, and one you can taste.
  3. Stop whenever you want. This is simply a short pause.

Doodle for one song

  1. Grab any pen and any scrap of paper.
  2. Put on one song you like.
  3. Doodle until it ends. No rules, and no one has to see it.

Step outside for a minute

  1. Go somewhere safe and comfortable, like a doorway, porch, or window.
  2. Look at the sky, a tree, or the street for a minute.
  3. Then go back to your day whenever you like.
