Rent help and waiting lists (Indiana)

Find who handles housing vouchers where you live in Indiana, and what the official pages say about waiting lists.

Vouchers in your county

Choose any Indiana county above. If this guide does not have a county-specific agency, it points you to the state voucher office, HUD’s authority finder and 2-1-1.

Waiting-list checklist

  1. 1. Find who handles vouchers for where you live: your city's housing authority, or IHCDA's local agency for your county.
  2. 2. Check whether a waiting list is open. If this page cannot say, call to confirm.
  3. 3. Online waiting lists may need an email address. Set one up before a list opens.
  4. 4. Write down every list you apply to, the date, and any confirmation number.
  5. 5. Tell each list if your address, phone or household changes.
  6. 6. If you need a place to stay now, call 2-1-1. A voucher is not emergency help.

What this guide does not know

  • Waiting lists open and close. A status here is only what the official page said on the date shown.
  • Indiana-wide emergency rent help: this page has not found a current official Indiana program, so it lists none.
  • Housing authority websites are listed only where NOLO could check them.
  • Where this guide does not yet have a county-specific agency, it shows the state voucher office, HUD’s authority finder and 2-1-1. It never guesses a county office.

This guide does not collect names, addresses or application details. Keep your records on paper or with the agency.
