For workers and for anyone preparing on their own. This page is built to print on one or two sheets. It has blank lines to write on. Nothing typed on paper reaches NOLO, and NOLO does not store anything about the person you are helping.
No One Left Outside referral packet · time-sensitive
Separate food needed today from pantry access, a SNAP application, a faster SNAP route, and a lost benefit card — they are different problems with different clocks.
A listing here is not a promise of help. It does not confirm eligibility, funding, capacity, an appointment, or that anyone will be accepted. Confirm every detail with the agency before travelling.
Answers 24 hours a day and can name current local food options. It does not confirm that a pantry is open or has stock.

Dare to Care, the regional food bank, publishes an interactive locator: enter an address or ZIP code, pick when you can go, and choose the kind of resource. Its listings cover Kentucky and southern Indiana sites. Two things on that page matter more than the map — published hours are narrow and differ by site (single blocks such as 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on one weekday), and at least one listed pantry serves only a single ZIP code. Check the hours and any service-area rule for the specific site before traveling. The locator does not establish that a site is open today or has food in stock.

☐ Household and address information, if requested
A pantry or benefits route may ask different household or service-area questions.
If you do not have it: Ask the specific resource what is required before traveling; do not assume a universal rule.
Worth asking about — not confirmed: Ask what information can be used for an initial visit or screening.
☐ Benefit information, if available
An ongoing benefits conversation may ask about current coverage or case status.
If you do not have it: Ask the responsible agency how to recover case information or continue without the card.
The route NOLO checked: Kentucky publishes a separate around-the-clock number for the benefit card itself: "If your EBT card is lost, stolen or damaged, call 1-888-979-9949 to report it." The Cabinet lists that number as available 24 hours a day, seven days a week — unlike the SNAP application line on 855-306-8959, which is not. Report a lost or stolen card to that number rather than waiting for an office to open. Replacing a card is not the same as replacing benefits already spent from it, and NOLO has not verified Kentucky's rules on replacing stolen or lost benefits — ask DCBS about that separately. Worth asking about — not confirmed: Ask what record or account information the official system accepts.

Kentucky publishes a faster SNAP route for households in immediate need, and publishes the conditions for it. The Cabinet for Health and Family Services states: "If your household needs help right away, you may be able to get your SNAP benefits within a few days after applying." It then states you "may qualify for SNAP benefits soon after applying under certain circumstances, if: 1. Your household's monthly rent or mortgage and utilities costs are more than its gross monthly income. 2. Your household's gross monthly income is less than $150 and resources, such as cash or bank accounts, total $100 or less." Those are conditions a household can check about itself before it calls. The Cabinet also publishes that "The head of your household, or an authorized representative, must be interviewed before the application can be completed," that "Benefits will begin from the date your application is received," that an application received outside business hours (Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern) "will be dated for the next business day," and that after filing "you will receive a notice within 30 days" of the decision. Apply by calling DCBS Family Support on 855-306-8959, online, in person at a local Family Support office, or by mailing a printed application; TTY is 800-627-4702. Whether a household is entitled to expedited service is DCBS's determination, not this page's.
